Hazy IPA

An IPA deliberately left cloudy. Bitterness is dialled back so the fruit-forward side of the hops — mango, passionfruit, stone fruit — carries the beer, over a soft, juicy mouthfeel.

Serving & pairing

Drink it young; within a month of packaging is the rule of thumb, because the aroma fades fast. Good with fruit desserts and lighter Japanese dishes.

Origin

Emerged in the northeastern US in the 2010s as New England IPA (NEIPA). Now one of the fastest-growing styles in Japan too.
